Metro Vancouver · Text or website, no app

Snap a photo. Get it fixed.

Photograph the problem and describe it in plain language. Snap & Fix diagnoses it, shows safe DIY steps when they are appropriate, and when a pro should do the work, matches you with a licensed local contractor — with an upfront price range.

Serving Vancouver, Richmond, Burnaby, Surrey, the North Shore, and nearby communities.

An example of the diagnosis screen. Not a real job.

How it works

Three steps from a photo to a fix.

  1. 01

    Snap and describe

Text a photo to Snap & Fix, or upload it on this site, and say what is going on — a drip under the sink, a breaker that keeps tripping, a lock that sticks.

  2. 02

    See the diagnosis

You get a plain-language read on the likely cause. If a careful DIY repair is appropriate, you get short steps. If the work is regulated or unsafe to attempt, we say so.

  3. 03

    Compare local quotes

When you want a tradesperson, reply YES. Nearby pros get the photos and the diagnosis, without your street address, and you compare their quotes.

DIY guidance is general information. It is not a permit, an inspection, or a substitute for a licensed tradesperson when British Columbia requires one.

Trades

The work the app can route.

Each job goes to the trade it actually needs. Contractors in other licensed trades can apply too, and coverage grows as they join.

  • Electrician

Panels, outlets, lighting, and breakers that trip.

  • Plumber

Leaks, clogs, fixtures, and water heaters.

  • Locksmith

Locks, rekeys, and doors that will not latch.

  • Painter

Rooms, trim, ceilings, and drywall touch-ups.

  • Handyman

The odd jobs that do not sit with one trade.

  • Heating and cooling

    Furnaces, thermostats, and ventilation.

  • Appliance repair

    Washers, dishwashers, fridges, and ovens.

  • Carpentry

Doors, trim, decks, and small wood repairs.

Why Snap & Fix

A clearer way to get work done.

  • Diagnosis in seconds

Photos and a short description go in. You get a clear read on what is likely wrong, and whether to try it yourself.

  • Upfront price ranges

Job tickets include an estimated range before a contractor is booked, so the first conversation is not a guess.

  • Licensed and insured pros

Contractors are required to hold the licence their trade needs in British Columbia, plus WorkSafeBC coverage and liability insurance. Applications are reviewed before anyone receives jobs.

  • Made for Metro Vancouver

Built for Vancouver, Richmond, Burnaby, Surrey, the North Shore, and the cities around them, with local tradespeople who already work in the region.

Questions

Do I need an app?

No. Text a photo and a short description, or use the Get help page on this site. We reply by text. A mobile app is not required.

Which cities are included?

Snap & Fix is launching across Metro Vancouver: Vancouver, Richmond, Burnaby, Surrey, North Vancouver, West Vancouver, and nearby municipalities such as Coquitlam, New Westminster, Delta, and Langley. A job can be matched only where a reviewed contractor covers that area.

What does the AI actually do?

You send photos and a description. The app returns a plain-language diagnosis, safe DIY steps when a careful homeowner could do the work, and a recommendation to hire a licensed trade when they should. It does not pull a permit or replace an on-site assessment.

How do price ranges work?

When a pro is the right next step, the job ticket includes an estimated price range before a contractor is booked. The contractor confirms the quote. The range is an estimate, not a final invoice.

How are contractors reviewed?

Applicants tell us their trade, service area, experience, and whether they carry WorkSafeBC coverage and liability insurance. A licence number, such as Technical Safety BC or SkilledTradesBC, is requested where the trade has one. We review applications before a business can receive jobs.

What does the waitlist cost?

Nothing. It is an email list for the launch. You are not hiring anyone by joining, and you can ask us to delete your email. The Privacy Policy describes what we keep.

I run a trade business. How do I get leads?

Open snapandfixhome.com/join and send your details. We follow up by phone or email. Expressing interest is free and does not lock you into a rate.

Is DIY guidance safe to follow?

Only when the app marks the job as appropriate for a careful homeowner. Electrical, gas, structural, and other regulated work in British Columbia should go to a licensed trade. If you are unsure, hire a pro. The guidance is general information, not an inspection.
